We are committed to using environmentally safe packaging that minimizes any negative environmental impact. To that end, we are shipping our garments with hangers made of recycled paperboard. We're proud to offer these environmentally friendly hangers to you. We hope that you'll use and enjoy them.
More paper is thrown away each year than any other material. For every 100 pounds of trash generated, 35 pounds is paper. Newspapers occupy 14% of landfill space and packaging paper accounts for another 15 to 20%. (US Department of Energy). By recycling paper products, we reduce the amount of trash discarded and put much of that to good use in creating new, saleable paper products such as newsprint, paperboard, and writing paper.
The U.S. paper industry estimates that approximately 50% of all paper is recovered through paper recycling. (US Department of Energy) Additionally, recycled paper generates 95% less air pollution than paper made of virgin pulp. For every ton of recycled paper produced, we avoid creating 60 pounds of air pollution. (University of Massachusetts, Amherst). By recycling paper, we also save a significant amount of energy. A paper mill uses 40% less energy to make paper from recycled paper than it does to make paper from fresh lumber.
In addition to using recycled cardboard, our plastic bags are recyclable. They are Type 4 low-density polyethylene bags. PLEASE RECYCLE THEM!
